Intro to Rock is an introductory rock climbing course designed to teach students with no previous experience basic climbing technique, set-up, and safety. Taught by Post staff along with experienced adult rock-climbers, the course consists of two sessions: a 3-hour class working directly with a staff person on the how-to's of knots and belaying and getting a feel for the rock at a nearby artificial wall, and a two day, two night trip to Leavenworth, Yakima, or Vantage (weather permitting) to spend as much time as possible on real rocks, learning technique and refining the basics previously learned. This course is open to anyone and requires a commitment to be able to make it to both sessions.
