Mountaineering First Aid (MOFA) is a 30-hour first aid course for the wilderness traveler. The course meets the requirements for the American Red Cross (ARC) Standard First Aid course with additional wilderness-focused first aid training. The volunteer instructors are certified by the ARC. The class is held two evenings a week for four and one-half weeks, or for two Saturdays plus a full weekend at a Mountaineers lodge. See the current schedule. The course fee is $90 for Mountaineers members. Mention that you are a member of the Post 84 and receive half off the cost. The fee includes textbooks, which are available the first night of class. MOFA courses held on weekends at Mountaineers lodges cost an additional $60, which covers room and board.
